His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1:3-4
Let's pick this apart.
His divine power provides EVERYTHING we need for a godly life.
Whose power?
God's divine power.
The same power that raised Lazarus from the dead;
The same power that healed lepers, the lame, the deaf and the blind;
The same power that drove out demons;
The same power that healed a woman of an issue of blood, just by touching the hem of Jesus's garment;
The same power that calmed a storm and stilled the waves of the sea.
That power provides EVERYTHING that you and I need to live a godly, successful, purposeful life.
His divine power comes through our KNOWLEDGE of Him.
How do we get this Power?
We must KNOW Him.
His divine power is NOT available to those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
Do you know Him? Do you know that God sent His One & Only Son to earth to die for your sins? Do you know that if you believe that Jesus is God's Son that you will have eternal life relationship with God?
This is NOT mere head knowledge, obtained simply by reading it in a book or online, or through some teacher. But a deep down in your heart "I BELIEVE" in my heart knowledge.
If you do,....
Then you also have His divine power!
He called us by His own glory and goodness.
Why me? Why you? Why us?
God loves you! He made you special, unique and with purpose.
The Bible tells us,
"you are fearfully and wonderfully made" [Psalm 139:14].
You did not happen by chance a loving and very creative God designed you.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13)
He did this because of His goodness and His glory.
Because He wants to have a relationship with you. Because He loves you!
The very same way that He created you, He has called you.

Through that same glory and goodness, we received His great & precious promises.
Promises, what promises?
The Bible, God's Word, contains literally thousands of promises waiting to be claimed in faith by those who know Him.
Many Bible scholars have counted the promises of God to man found in the Bible.
Whether there are thousands, hundreds, tens, or just one,
He didn't have to make even one promise to us.
But He did, because He loved us.
Isn't He a great, glorious, and good God full of grace and mercy?!
You can live in victory by standing on His promises to you.
It is through those precious promises that we may PARTICIPATE in the divine nature.
Be a Doer not just an observer!
Some people have adopted the saying, "It is what it is!" as their life mantra. THIS IS SUCH A LIE!
Jesus said,
"I came that they (You and Me) may have life, and have it abundantly. An abundant life does not just come to us by sitting around and waiting for it." [John 10”10b]
Jesus told His disciples,
"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." [John 14:12-14]
You can change the world – You have the power to do it - Just do it!
And that divine nature gives us ESCAPE from the corruption of the world.
Are you overwhelmed by the corruption around you?
You can see the reality of events around you from God’s perspective. By doing so, you can have a Godly influence and defeat the evil in the world.
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. [1 John 5:4-5]
If you have the power to heal the sick and brokenhearted, raise the dead, to calm a storm, to feed the multitudes with two loaves and some fish, you can overcome and escape the corruption of the world.

The corruption of the world is caused by the evil desires of our flesh.
We no longer live in the flesh - we live in the Spirit!
Scripture tells us,
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. [Ephesians 4:20-24]
For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at work in the members of our body to bear fruit for death. But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter. [Romans 7:5-6]
Believe that your flesh has been crucified with Christ and you have been given a new spirit, the Spirit of Christ.
Perhaps, you have a difficult time believing in your heart that you have this divine power.
Perhaps, there is something holding you back from participating in this divine power.
Perhaps, you just cannot see a YOU, bold enough, free enough, awesome enough to get through today, tomorrow or next week.
